While we fast, we are connected to all those who hunger. Millions living in poverty must fast every day: Syrians, Burmese, Central African refugees, Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, and many others.
With the help of Allah and your generosity, Zakat Foundation of America can deliver food packages, serve warm Iftars and bring joy to the hearts of children with an Eid gift in more than 40 countries, including USA and Canada.
Zakat Foundation Ramadan Campaign
1. Zakat - If you have more than $3,900.00 in savings(current Nisab amount), you are supposed to pay 2.5% as Zakat (min. $97.50). If you need help calculating Zakat, contact us at 302.533.2334, or visit zakat.org to use the online Zakat Calculator. Sisters who would like to weigh their gold can come to the ZF center to use a gold scale and can get help calculating their Zakat.
2. Zakat al-Fitr/Fitrah - $10.00 per family member.
3. Fidyah - $10.00/day
4. Kaffarah - $10.00/day
5. Food package of basic staples - $50.00 per family
6. Iftar - $3.00 per person

5. Arrange an Iftar, presentation or fundraiser in your community (contact your local imam or masjid representative).
6. Participate in the ZF programs in your city.
This Ramadan, whether you give livestock, a warm Iftar or a food package to a family, or a new toy to a child, we know that Allah can multiply the blessings of your charity for generations to come.
